Bennington Heights
One of Toronto's most exclusive neighbourhoods sits in a tiny enclave across the ravine from Moore Park, just south of the Mount Pleasant Cemetery and west of Bayview Ave.
Bennington Heights is small neighbourhood surrounded by green space on almost all sides. With Bennington Park, the Don River Valley ravine and the wide, peaceful grounds of Mount Pleasant Cemetery bordering the area, residents enjoy the feeling of living in a small town, while having easy access to everything that a mid-town Toronto address has to offer.
An eclectic variety of houses sit on quiet, winding streets and cozy cul-de-sacs. The area features many styles of homes across economic levels - it's not unusual to see more modest (though very well kept) post-war bungalows next to grand stone mansions, built in the 1920s and 1930s.
The popular Leaside shopping district isn't far away - specialty stores, food shops and restaurants are a short drive. Recreation facilities abound - there's an excellent selection of parks and trails in the area, including Evergreen Gardens Park, the Moore Park Ravine, and the Moore Park Trail, which is part of the former Belt Line Railway, which operated as a commuter train in the late 1800s.
Regular bus service goes to St. Clair subway station, and motorists can access downtown and the Don Valley Parkway via the Bayview extension.
